Towny has a rank hierarchy for both towns and nations. Each rank inherits every permission from the rank below it, plus its own additions.
Town Ranks (lowest to highest)
Resident
The base rank every town member starts at.

Helper
Everything a Resident can do, plus:
- Ability to build in all town plots
Assistant
Everything a Helper can do, plus:
- /t claim
- /t plot toggle
- Can build and access anything in the town
Co-Mayor
Everything an Assistant can do, plus:
- /t withdraw [amount]
- /t bankhistory
- /t outlaw add/remove [player]
- /t rank add/remove [player]
- /t set
- /t buy bonus [amount]
- /t say [message]
- /t unclaim
- /t kick [player]
- /tr towncollect
Mayor
Everything a Co-Mayor can do, plus:
